I really don’t know how to describe it. I did a rough sketch and focused on the shadows of the reference images which luckily the Silverback gorilla was perfect. I used one color and made several tones of the color. Then focusing on the tone of the shadows helped me determine where the lightest and darkest shades should be. Does that help? I’m…[Read more]

I kind of wanted to do a fun cute little fox for furry creatures prompt. I kept playing with it and had to stop before over complicating it. 20180723_195155

Under the Sea was a fun subject to research. So I decided on this little guy with ears and bright colors. 20180723_190730

The Glorious Golds prompt had me stumped so I went with an antique gramophone. 20180723_180613

Thank you, I was inspired by the movie, ‘Gorillas in the Mist.’

This is one of the styles in which I would love to learn how to paint; minimalist lines/washes. To me, this is different than simply “loose,” if that makes sense. How did you go about painting this piece?

Yes, it does help, but not sure I could do it. Honestly, this does not look like the work of a “beginner” watercolorist!

Thank you…I’ve never done a frog before. I think I was able to make it look like a cartoon but not like the princess and the frog cartoon.

The wet and dry prompt had me stumped. I thought a frog would be perfect since it can go on both land and in water. 20180720_173316
