Help!!! Would you please comment on watercolors that you love that won’t ‘break the bank’? Mine are $15 cheapies and are chalky and clumpy. Now that I know that I love watercolor I’m willing to spend more but I have a small budget.
In the (relatively) cheaper range for pan paints, I like both Van Dyke and White Nights – these are ‘artist’ grade, a step above student but not quite professional quality. I don’t use the cheaper tube paint (purely from personal preference). I think in tube paints, the biggest bang for the buck is M Graham. However, they are made with honey, so if you live in a hot, humid environment or just do a lot of outdoors painting, they can be too runny.
