Yes, the price certainly does play a part. Someone said it is best to stick with a fairly decent paper to start with so it behaves the same all the time. I actually like using all kinds of papers. My favorite brand is Hahnemühle and most of the time I use their cellulose watercolor postcards. I just know not to try doing certain things and can take advantage of the way the paper works. I will caution – it isn’t just about cotton vs cellulose. Thank you, Yvonne! What I do is try to find out what the paper does best rather than try to make it do just anything. I enjoy trying to destroy it, lol. That tells me what limits it has and what might work or won’t.
