I need a bit of help!
I am participating in an Open Canvas event in the coming weekend. I will be showcasing my artwork, hosting demos and workshops. As this is my first time in any such event, I am very nervous.

My first attempt at monochrome painting, and I am quite happy with the outcome. Though it took me more time and effort than I expected, but was worth giving it a shot. A sepia colour would have looked nice too, like an old photograph. The purple gives the painting the impression of a dusk/evening scene.

Indigo and Payne’s Grey are also great colours for monochromes. But I do like the purple very much, I am only suggesting an alternative, like you asked. Anyway, choose a dark colour for monochromes so you can paint all the values. I wish you a lot of fun experimenting with this idea 🙂

I live in Maine where we are covered in snow right now. these remind me of our lupines that grow in the summer. a cheery thought as I stare out my window. thank you for the beautiful painting!
