This watercolor and ink painting is done on Masa paper. It involves many steps: wetting and crinkling the paper, layering a glaze on the stretched out damp paper, and letting it dry. Then gluing the masa to a heavier watercolor paper or board then adding subsequent glazes and details. This is the valley and church in Emmittsburg, MD USA where…[Read more]

“Kudzu Triptych” is a group of three watercolor and watercolor pencil paintings in different color temperatures. Kudzu is a vine that had been growing wild in forests of the U.S. since Catching a ride on cargo from Japan. Although the berries are beautiful, the vine climbs trees and bushes in forests and chokes them out. The middle painting is wat…[Read more]

Masa paper is interesting, but hard to work on! You did a fabulous job.
Thank you! My third attempt. Working on a fourth one. I like your work also!
Beautiful!
A lot of work with beautiful results. (and here I am too lazy to stretch my watercolor sheets)
Oh I do love this painting. I can see that it has taken quite a bit of work with the layers, but oh so worth it. 🙂
Thank you! Worth the time.
