I think it was Angela Fehr who said it’d be worth it to wreck 50 paintings… try stuff, overwork some, feel the freedom to just paint bold and not fixate on the result.
Well, overworking is totally in my wheelhouse and everything looks easy when I watch someone else demo it but feels NEW when I take a crack at it. So, here’s 2 down and 48 more to go!! 1399CFA3-E418-410C-AADA-F239A9B04F550AE91844-4998-4BF3-A214-3DE5D7482CA8Karen Russo posted an updateI think it was Angela Fehr who said it’d be worth it to wreck 50 paintings... try stuff, overwork some, feel the freedom to just paint bold and not fixate on the result. My next 3 “wrecked” paintings… not sure I’ll make it to 50 (intentionally at least 😄).
And, I love Sandra’s comment to approach each project as a practice project — a great way to beat some of those voices in our heads! 6CEFEB26-735B-4237-A3E6-71F47CE9220369018AB3-4384-4675-BCD3-F17D6EFBE48B View
Wow..Golden words spoken by Angela Fehr..She really inspires many of us…Keep posting…I am waiting to see the rest of your 48 paintings.
Haha! Thanks— me too!
Beautiful paintings! I agree with Angela. Whenever I’m trying a new paper, or paint, I more or less set out to destroy the paper. It really helps me learn what I can and can’t do with that particular product.
😊
Very nice, Karen!
Thank you. 😄
