Very three dimensional!
-
Really!? It looked so flat to me ….tried to darken the shadows…I’m glad there is depth….Thank you Sandra!
-
Definitely! The leaves extending past the edges create a close-up feeling, while the darker shadows imply leaves farther away. Add in the overlapping of the leaves and you have great dimension.
-
Good! Getting better! 😬 Thank you!

William is a good sport and goes along with our jokes…just as well. His dog bed “somehow” ended up on his back (no idea how that happened), of course, it was an inevitable sketch. IMG_1628

Dogs do the darndest things, lol!

Is this the bug in the system that is giving us all grief? Rod

Neither do we…still trying to work it out! lol 😉

Our pets do seem to tolerate a lot from us….nice painting of tolerance.😀

He’s very patient with his humans 😉

I think he enjoys it …. mostly 😉

He is handsome no matter the haircut.
-
…and I’m sure he knows it, lol 🙂
-
-
Poor Hamish! I bet he hated getting the haircut, but probably enjoyed the feeling afterward.
-
He “puts up with it” at the time, poor little chap, lol 🙂
-
-
That is an adorable haircut! Hmmmmm, my mutt would look good in that as well. I have always been drawn to Chinese Crested dogs; never could figure out until I realized they look so much like some of the dogs Dr. Zeuss had. And I love Dr. Zeuss books.

That is telling you something 😉

Day 314…lunch
When I sat down to paint this prompt, I sat there thinking “Hmmm lunch, lunch, lunch…. Hey I had a hotdog for lunch today with my mom”. My mom LOVES hotdogs, so she had the biggest smile on her face.

I think you did a great job Shar! Love the tide pool and reflection!
-
Thank you Julia: not my idea, it was in the photo and that’s what I loves about it. Unfortunately, I was unable to make the rock the pool is on appear high up compared to the rocks/beach surrounding it; am off with my perspective. Much more to learn.

A lighthouse is a wonderful metaphor for Doodlewash! This site is a beacon for creativity and sharing. I love lighthouses, too, and have been inside several on the West Coast. There is at least one lighthouse in California in which you can spend the night!
-
Thanks so much, Sharon! 😃💕 I would SO love to spend the night in a lighthouse! Fun! And thrilled you’re enjoying Doodlewash! I do hope it can be a beacon of creativity for everyone!

Glass and metal and light – all the things that you are best at, and you’ve outdone yourself with this painting! Hoping to get this shiny trio for my birthday. Can’t wait for the World Watercolor Month!

Beautiful lantern! They are wonderful things indeed – we’ve quite a few of them on the coast here, mostly converted into accommodation, but some still work. I like the doodlewasher metaphor, but now would also quite like to see an actual lighthouse giving out different colours!
I can’t believe it’s nearly July again, only fifty days!
-
Thanks, Jacob! 😃💕 hehe… yeah, one day I’ll actually paint the exterior! They’re such amazing buildings. And yay for World Watercolor Month! Yep… had to add a countdown again. Though it’s probably a day off for folks in other parts of the world. They always get to start first!

I grew up in Door County, WI where there are a bunch of light houses. I never get tired of them, or the foggy weather that makes them so valuable.

Aww that sounds amazing!! Would have loved to have grown up with that sight! 😃💕

Thanks, Sharon! 😃💕 I’m so happy you liked this one… a bit of a departure from my usual object on white. hehe And tree houses??? Yes please!!
