I recently lost a competition, one I thought I had a chance at winning. The good news is they actually returned the entry. I’ve never won a competition — and have lots of doubts about the wisdom of entering them, especially those that cost a lot (unless there is a large prize.)
What experiences do you have and do you all enter them?
IF I were going to make anything in the USA, and buy en masse for sales, I think I would pay the little bit extra and work locally (unless you have no local print person) because when you are gettign started the sheer numbers of questions and changes might be daunting.
I have the Emerald… I don’t like using these dang inks in pens because the shimmer tends to clog and I do use my pens BUT BUT BUT gads woman you made me drop this into my cart. AMAZING orange. Amazing. and Inktober is coming!
Only when I am doing a large piece — and then it is not watercolor but oil or acrylic. I have two, and I only bought the small one to save money and it was silly as I ended up needing the larger, so for a couple hundred (unless you buy used) more get the one you want.
