Thank you! I’ve been sick all week, and haven’t had a lot of energy to create. But I had spare time at work yesterday to catch up a little, and I’m glad that I created this little painting. It was a lot of fun. My boys have also been participating in the challenge and are always eager to know what the next day’s subject is. 🙂

That is definitely summer in all its bold richness! Love it!

I spilled some water onto my palette and all the mixes ran together. I hated to just throw it away, but I knew it would just make mud. Then I saw this a photo of a mudskipper and knew just how to use it, lol. Mudskipper-Technical Pen & Left over paint on the palette on Hahnemühle Watercolor Postcard-CP

Thank you, Charlie. I love serendipity!

-
Thank you, Mary. He was fun to paint.
-
-
He looks awesome! And good to know that I am not the only one to keep using paint that others probably just wash away.
-
I don’t always keep what’s left-over, but there was so much to this. I still have some left so I’ll have to keep look for muddy subjects, lol.

Tea – A horribly over-worked painting of … what? That’s not tea? Well, that explains it then. Abandoned-Tonya's Nature Trio on William TurnerAbandoned-Tonya's Nature Trio on William Turner

I like the atmosphere of sulleness which you expressed in your wc by the subdued lighting, fallen empty bottles and movement of the curtains catching a slight breeze. Definitely not AZ tea. Nice.
-
Thank you! I’m glad it works. I was trying to get the feeling of dust and everything went downhill from there, lol.
-
No, I think you got it. It doesn’t seem ‘overworked.’ Keep that thought under your hat. Very expressive. I like it.
-
Thank you! It’s helpful to know that.

Ha! 🙂

Lots of half-told stories in this painting. Would love to hear the back story.
-
I used a reference photo from the Morguefile, so I don’t know the real story, but it reminds of few abandoned buildings I’ve been in here and there. https://morguefile.com/photos/morguefile/1/90b55286977d880721839f15811436cf

It is dark, depressing moody, yet the sunlight behind the curtain adds a hint of hope.
-
Thank you, Susan. That is exactly what drew me to the reference photo.
