Sometimes just a short walk can be a hike for people. A father and his daughter talk about the good old days they walked hand in hand. As a young girl, her daddy would hold her hand making sure she didn’t fall. Now, the tables are turned and it’s the little girl all grown up now hold her daddy’s hand making sure he doesn’t fall. I am caring for my 94 year old mother who up to a few years ago went for daily walks with her friend. Today, mom needs the assistance of a walker to even take a few short steps. When we go away and we must walk to the senior center from the car, I am by her side making sure she doesn’t fall. The tables have turned in our lives but we are here for each other—supporting hand in hand along the journey. 9E87875D-3EBE-4D1C-97C1-5FE4B1A14559

Sometimes on the nicest day starting out, a storm could suddenly brew up over the ocean and people would scramble to their cars with the first round of thunder. If you’ve ever had that experience you know what I mean. Even the waves coming toward the shoreline tell of the weather that’s about to begin. 6C18AED9-87E2-4E54-9906-6041409ED65C

At the Castaways Campground in Berlin, Maryland. We were listening (or trying not to) someone singing to karaoke who was singing so flat, it hurt our ears. Not only singing flat but I think she was also intoxicate and didn\'t realize just how bad she was. I drew and painted this trying to distract myself from the off-key voice we were hearing. The place was \"singing\" was next to the green colored tarp and under that awning. Too close for real comfort IMG-1495

Since I found out there was no chance of uploading anything at all, I decided to paint something small for each prompt in the #Worldwatercolormonth until I got home. Here\'s several more tiny paintings for the July 12th to July 21st prompts. Forest animals, fast and loose, sweet treats, on the beach, casting shadows, city life, in the jungle, rainy days (wishing it wasn\'t raining here) wet and dry. (had to have some moisture to produce a cactus flower and dry enough for the cactus to grow, and then I added some gold to the painting the next day for glorious golds, and an under the sea creature (plus some trash left behind that I hope people stop dumping into the ocean) world watercolor month 12 to 22

I was away and the internet signal was so poor, I couldn\'t upload anything for the #Worldwatercolormonth. So, here\'s one to start out from the July 11 prompt, Beautiful blooms. I was at a campground and brought these flowers from home to paint and to enjoy at our dinner table. These were painting en pleinair sitting on a tv tray with water to dip the brushes into and an iced tea to sip as I painted. Everything was done in my sketchbook. Beautiful blooms July 11

This was done on my sketchbook a few years ago; but I love the color harmony and the luminous quality of the still life for today\'s prompt. Still Life Oranges Flowers042

Climbing mountains or looking at them from a distance or sitting in their midst; the mountains are a place one can find solitude and peace if you only take the time to experience it. I\'ve been blessed to have lived in the mountains of Colorado and Wyoming so I know the feeling very well. Peace is yours for the taking. Back Home _small

It\'s the time of the year when butterflies are flying around, pollinating flowers and vegetables. For the Monarch butterfly, it loves the milkweed plant to place her eggs on the underside of the leaf. Emerging from that egg and it turns into a larva; it has a huge appetite and eats the milkweed leaf until it gets nice and fat. When it\'s reached a point in its life cycle, it leaves the milkweed and locates a place to spin a little silk thread where it turn itself into a pupa. After this it becomes a beautiful adult Monarch and takes flight to Mexico. This whole process takes about four weeks and even less if the weather is warm! July 8 Flying things

I managed to get some vine ripened tomatoes picked for the picnic. I hope I brought enough big and juicy ones and a few Roma’s. One little green one fell off the vine. Enjoy #worldwatercolorgroupC976962C-174B-4637-94B6-93ED59CE8B91

What is grilling and a party atmosphere without a tiki torch? Somehow, several tiki torches scattered around a party area seem to keep the mood festive plus helps keep the gnats and mosquitoes away. This past weekend, we were away at a hill climb race where my husband competes and I got the torches and \"punk\", lit them and they chased all the bugs away. The tiki torches and punk scattered throughout our group saved the party. Tiki light
