Has anyone else noticed that their otherwise nicely behaved watercolors start to get sticky in the heat? I have a few tubes of cad reds half-used from when I first started out painting about 15 or 20 years ago — lately I’ve been looking at them longingly again! Still haven’t found reds to compare with them. Thinking I should use them up and see how it goes now that I have more experience under my belt.
When my brushes start misbehaving the first thing I do is wash them with a brush cleaner — I use Master’s Brush Cleaner. I think of it as them having a bad hair day! Also sometimes when they are new brushes have sizing in them to help keep them together during shipping and that can make them misbehave as well — so they get a good…[Read more]
