It is a Windsor and Newton Cotman colours palette. Not high end watercolours, but they do the job. I usually work in acrylics so I have more high end paints in that medium.
I have absolutely no idea what I’m doing with this medium, and to top it all off, this design is a new style for me regardless of medium so I’m pretty much putting paint to paper and crossing my fingers 😀
It’s starting out beautifully! I found that when I switched from acrylics it was a bit like that switch from positive to negative painting. I had to think light to dark instead of dark to light. That really threw me for a while and I still tend to loose my whites because I don’t think it through carefully enough.
Definitely. The whole process is in reverse and I’m finding myself very heavy handed. And I’m not a fan of once its down I can’t paint over it either. But it has a delicacy that acrylics can lack. Though I have decided that I need some better and finer watercolour brushes. These ones are expensive, but I’m used to working with synthetics and these are natural and behave very differently.
