For our prompt of “Dessert” today, I opted for a quick doodle of a fantasy one, since I couldn’t talk Philippe into having peach cobbler and ice cream for breakfast. That’s the dessert we had last night, but I
That does look very tasty! I made two pies this morning. Pecan and pumpkin. The turkey is roasting and the gravy is made. I buy extra wings so I can make loads of gravy because everything is better with gravy on it.
I once had a Doberman, who came to me at 8-weeks already house-broken. We moved in with a room-mate a few years later, and when she put up a Christmas tree, Beorn immediately marched over and gave it a liberal dousing. She was so mad, but I couldn’t stop laughing. I know he was thinking ‘Finally! They got me an indoor toilet’. He was a very obedient dog, and once told not to do that, he never did it again. I’m sure he was disappointed though, and I had to buy my room-mate a new tree, but I still laugh thinking about it.
I can feel all the festivity through your post, Charlie! Though Christmas isn’t a big thing for us, but for me personally, it’s about fairy lights, plum cakes, hot drinks and general cheer and good feeling. Thanks to my dad who grew up in a multicultural and cosmopolitan city in India and instilled these things in us.
Hope you really enjoyed the cobbler, it looks delish! We wiped out the apple pie and are now working on the pineapple pie – getting ready to begin decorating. And it’s time to pull out my favorite Christmas album, the Christmas Revels. We are expecting a snowstorm Sunday pm thru Tuesday am so we’ll be in the holiday spirit, about 1/2 foot deep or more! Enjoy!
Thanks, Margaret! 😃💕I so remember the few choices… I rather liked that! lol These days the ice cream choices can be so overwhelming. hehe… and I don’t post many photos, but if we get a good one, I’ll consider it! 😉
Hi everyone. My name is Anna Koliadych. I am an illustrator and watercolor artist. Also, you may know me as DearAnnArt. Initially, I came up with this name for Instagram, but over time this name turned into a
I never knew about art philosphy. So pretty. I like your message about why you create and letting art just happen. I love to paint and wnat to pursue it full time. I know belief in self is so important so thanks for sharing your story and encouraging me to pursue my dream.
For our prompt of “Turkey” today, I opted for a proper portrait of a wild turkey, with a face only a mother could love. In truth, I find turkey faces quite fascinating with all the little bumps, bits, and tiny odd
Your dinner sounds totally amazing. I woke up craving cornbread. It’s not something easy to find here so I’m still cornbreadless. We went to a restaurant and my turkey was deli meat – literally. Hubby opted for a club sandwich and had exactly the same turkey slices! I wasn’t that bad, but not very Thanksgivingy. But it will be a day to remember – and a reminder to not visit that particular restaurant on a holiday.
What a perfect Thanksgiving dinner to start off the holiday season! I, too, cooked green bean casserole, with fresh, organic French beans. It was a small gathering of my husband, me, our oldest daughter, her husband, and our 3 year-old grandson. We raised our glasses of Burgundy and German Riesling to toast the blessings of family and friends. My other children are scattered from San Francisco to Brooklyn, but we’ll see them during the 12 Days of Christmas!
A fly by hi! My company is here for the weekend. We are doing our feast tomorrow, so I have to wait even longer than you. Today we had Swedish meatballs. They were great, and there aren’t many left, so good thing I wasn’t counting on them for leftovers. Have a wonderful weekend!
Nice, inquisitive look on this turkey’s face. We spent an evening at a friend’s home and had a delicious meal with everyone contributing something to the table. Wonderful food, good conversations…a pleasant evening all around. Happy to hear that you had a wonderful Thanksgiving!
Hey, that looks just like the flock of turkeys that just ran thru my back yard! Here in central Mass. we have lots of wildlife including turkeys and they are fun to watch. But even more fun to eat! Our dinner was a bit less intimate than yours; we had a total of seven, and it was wonderful time. And as you have pointed out, memories of the flavors, friendships and family stay in our hearts forever.
Love your turkey!! 🙂 And here i am still having turkey left overs ahhhhhhhh but now i do my pot pie it has a stuffing crust, turkey and gravy green bean casserole; and layers of cheese melted in lol i like to make strange food inventions lol but it is gooddddddd lol 🙂
For our prompt of “Pineapple” today, I decided to doodle this one. I love pineapples, but they are rather complex when it comes to sketching a realistic one, which was my goal for today, at least. I’ve actually
Wonderful pineapple Charlie! I’m glad you had a chance to relax today. I should have cooked but I cleaned instead. Tomorrow morning will be a whirlwind as I pull together our Thanksgiving feast. There will be 7 of us and too much food. I try to get most of it done prior to everyone arriving. I have a small kitchen. Happy Thanksgiving, Charlie!
I do like the look of the Switch, maybe Santa will bring me one if I’ve been good enough this year. The game I’m working on is coming out on it, too. If I did get one, we might even be able to play online! 😉
It was a wrench for us when Mom moved into Assisted Living and most of the household stuff, including the Christmas ornaments had to go. I think my niece ended up with most of it (I don’t decorate – I know! I’m a Scrooge!). This will be a difficult Holiday season for me but I’m so thankful that I had Mom for 66 years. That’s longer than many people get.
Did some housekeeping today because company coming. Not that they care really, but Joe and I were feeling a bit slovenly. I’ve been dealing with medical stuff for long enough that things had begun taking on a life of their own. Now the stove is clean again and I won’t feel as if I’m doing a science experiment by cooking on it. Have a wonderful day! I’m thankful I met you and all these watercolor pals!
A fine pineapple, good enough to eat! I’m sitting here checking out all the detail on it, and enjoying the aroma from the kitchen of the pineapple pie my wife is baking! All of these sensory inputs triggering our memories of holidays past, and melding them all together into a pleasant melange. Have a marvelous Thanksgiving and the best to your entire family and to our Doodlewash family too!
Thanks so much, Fanna! 😃💕 Thrilled you enjoyed this post! I had a lovely Thanksgiving, hope you did as well! And yay to letting our inner children take over and tell us exactly what we need to DO next! 😉 hehe
