What I really love most about this season is that it’s filled with shiny ribbons and bows that sparkle under the lights of the tree. For today’s prompt, I opted for this 2-color doodlewash of a gold ribbon bow,
I love your traditions and thank you for sharing them with us and I second what everyone before me has to say about that beautiful golden bow! I am amazed at how you make things shine. We also have some traditions that we’ve established over the years that are the best part of Christmas. Shine On!!
Today is the final day of our November challenge. I hope you’ve enjoyed this bountiful month of food. Next up, we have all the familiar icons of December and lots of good cheer. I arrived in Texas today to visit
Hi at least u have reached u r destination.
Although u r older as u says but for Ma always kid. And her first question is oh u r not eating properly looking so weak.ha ha that’s called Ma.
Carrot soup is nice. Enjoy with the family.
I just found out myself. So maybe we are both dense lol! ATC stands for Artist Trading Card. They measure 3 1/2″ by 2 1/2″. The same size as other trading cards. There are sites across the web that do trades and swaps. Some people sell them on Etsy ect. But then they are called ACEO’s Art Cards Editions and Originals. Swiss artist M. Vänçi S…[Read more]
Thank you Angelina. The yellow color is beautiful Quinacridone Gold (599) by Sennelier (French watercolor brand). It is one of those paints that “moves” all other colours on the paper. You must try it!
Today we have a little assortment of squash in answer to the latest prompt. As we’re nearing the end of the month, it’s almost time for the December challenge, so if you’re curious to know what’s coming up next,
I was laughing reading part on how decorative squashes get covered up by many other “collectables” on your table. It sounds somehow very familiar to me. Our cleaning lady is coming every Thursday, and we’re always in a huge panic on Wed evening, trying to “clean” things before the cleaning lady come for cleaning, haha…
Interesting!! That’s the same date of the problems here, though I don’t actually use those plugins. The anti-spam went into overdrive which caused the gallery issue though… now solved thankfully! Wow… crazy little cyber world we live in… and all we want to do is post and share watercolor!! 😃💕
I love your squashes! Or is it still just ‘squash’ when plural, I dunno. lol Around our house I tend to add ‘ies’ to make things plural and just a little friendlier. So squash would be squashies, lol. Makes like a little more fun. Enjoy your trip!
When I sat down to make a quick little doodlewash this evening, the prompt of peas proved a little daunting. I wasn’t quite sure how to make them seem interesting, so I opted for a bit of dramatic lighting. Not
Your dramatic lighting definitely worked! It sounds like you’ve lucked out finding a significant someone who cooks and is musical and artistically talented. And from what I can see of you in the Doodlewash community and World Watercolor Group, it something you well deserve!
Thanks so much, Sandra! 😃💕 Aww that’s so sweet of you to say! Yeah, I feel so lucky to have found someone like that. And extra lucky to have created a community filled with such wonderful people! It’s amazing!
Not a huge fan of peas, unless they’re in pot pie, but I love those moments. My husband and I are a good example of opposites attract, and even better, balance. He’s outgoing, and dreams up things we could do and keeps the both of us properly socialized, whereas I’m very organized and love to make sure we have a quiet, relaxing home life to retreat to when we’re ready to relax.
Sounds like the perfect combo for sure! 😃💕 Hehe… yeah, actually Philippe and I are such homebodies that we are in danger of becoming old hermits. But we have lots of other differences that make up for it! lol
OOH, peas are my very favorite, especially on the holidays. I make mushy peas as a dip, one gargantuan bag of frozen peas, just enough water to cover them. Add at least half a dozen fresh garlic cloves (I love more, more MORE)hehehe. Boil for a few minutes until you know they’re piping hot. Drain thoroughly. Add butter generously along with a HUGE amount of freshly ground pepper. Salt to taste. Now get out the immersion blender and blend those suckers until nice and mushy, don’t leave any garlic cloves from being mushed, lol. Taste, adjust seasoning, you can also add fresh mint if you want. Decant into containers, freeze i you want. To make a dip, use good Mayo like Hellmann’s, mix in a little or a lot depending on whether you like mayo. On the other hand, you can just heat them up and use them as a side dish veggie. OR you can buy some good garlic hummus and mix mushy peas and hummus half and half together. The sweetness of the peas pairs beautifully with the chickpeas and lemon. YUMM. Serve with crudités or sweet potato chips (Food Should Taste Good brand is awesome and organic!) Your peas make me wish Christmas eve would HURRY UP!
