Did you know that ‘calving’ is a term used when icebergs break off from glaciers? And now one of the downsides of granulating colors. I accidentally grabbed hot press paper instead of cold press — smooth is not the best texture for granulating colors, lol.

Did you know the inner layer of musk ox hair is called qiviut, and is considered to be the rarest fiber in the world, by many?

Beautiful and the yarn is wonderful but pricey. Have only gotten to use it once but I get to see musk ox fairly often as they are being raised on a farm outside of the town I live in.

Did you know that Galanthus, The scientific name for snowdrops translates to ‘milk flower’? I didn’t like the way this painting was coming along, and I was in a bit of a hurry, so rather than trying to set it to rights, I decided to put my snowdrops into a snowstorm.

I suspect it was never available in the U.K., though who knows. These were available here in the 50’s and 60’s, maybe later but I don’t think so. When the syrup had been used, you could convert the jar into a coin bank.

Thank you, Mary! Not regional, Bosco was based in New Jersey so closer to you than me. I think though that they were expensive enough, and the jars a different size than most so a lot of stores just didn’t carry them.
