Love the colors in the barbells. I agree it is wonderful to have the time to enjoy what you like and a master piece is not the reason to paint. It definitely is the process. Enjoying the moment.

Clue was one of my favorite games, too. Was never good at ping pong. I like the way you describe the watercolor painting process. I am so happy that watercolor came into my life. It is like playing and seeing the paint working along with you or maybe against you is always amazing.

Great doodle! Just looking at that dog I was smiling. Loved the blog. When we would get silly and giggling as kids my grandmom would say, “laughing comes to crying”. We never wanted to believe her but it usually ended up being true. It never stopped us though. Giggling was always fun. Your blog has brought back many memories. Thanks, Charlie.

Mary McDonough commented on the post, Watching Birds 3 years, 6 months ago
Your bird is beautiful colors and I love the turn of the head. Watercolors have made me more aware of so many things that I just didn’t observe. I have always loved nature and enjoyed taking photos but when I started painting there was so much more to observe. The light, shadow, color, line and shapes seem to call out. So many gifts of nature.…[Read more]

Loved your discussion of how you grow into watercolor painting. I am fairly new at this wonderful art experience. Enjoying retirement and learning new things. I too have enjoyed Zentangle, and finding animals and faces in the clouds. Love how that right side of our brain works. Your art is beautiful and I hope I get to that free flowing style…[Read more]

Mary McDonough commented on the post, A Freshly Made Bed 3 years, 6 months ago
This brought back memories when I was a kid. My mom hung the sheets out on the line to dry and then probably ironed them, too. That aroma of the fresh air and crisp sheets was wonderful. Now it is washer, dryer and back on the bed which does not give that same crisp fresh air experience.
That is a very cute little dog, love that expression in his eye. -

You have created a very special moment each time you post your blog. Your writing is always inspiring as you tell us about very simple events. I often think about the corn flakes that your grandmom let you have for supper. Being a grandmom myself I wonder what my grandkids will remember as a simple grandmotherly event.
