Yes. You can paint with watercolor on black paper. I had to choose my pigments carefully and use many layers, but I was able to get bright colors and work light over dark. Wonderful, the colors really pop. I have been eyeing the black paper and I do have gouache. I also have black watercolor ground which I am going to try on a small canvas to see how watercolor and gouache play on it. Just waiting for a brave day that I can have the door and windows open for ventilation. I will try it soon.
