4/30/18 Unicorn Painted from a Pixabay photo. Not sure that I've seen this bug in the garden but have seen one that was similar. I find bugs very fascinating...as long as they are outside. 4.30.18 Unicorn img523

4/29/18 Dolls I honestly do not remember the dolls I had as a child....I'm sure I must have had them but I really don't remember them. So, this is the doll I think i would have wanted...striped legs like Pippi Longstocking (my heroine back then) and she would have undoubtedly been wearing a blue dress with some sort of apron to catch the paint splatters. Hmmm...think I need to go back and add the splatters. Oh, and she would most definitely have a smile on her face. 4.29.18 Dolls img522

4.28.18 Aquarium A very large aquarium greets travelers at Sarasota Airport. This is my interpretation of just a tiny corner of that wonderful exhibit by Mote Marine. 4.28.30 Aquarium img517

4/27/18 Cookies One of my best memories, the Christmas my sister and her husband gave us this cookie jar filled with Christmas cookies. When I look at the jar now, filled or empty, it always reminds me of my sister and puts a smile on my face. 4.27.17 Cookies mg504

4/27/18 Television What seems like a century ago we had this little portable tv that wasn't much wider than a VHS tape (or whatever those things were called) and actually played those tapes. It's long gone and my memory of it was just that it was small, square and somewhat squatty. 4.26.18Television img522

4/21/18 Playground Got to thinking about this and realized that when we were kids wherever our feet landed was our playground, and, every "playground" an adventure. 4.21.18 Playground img510

4.9.19 Picnic A picnic was a rare treat when I was a kid. My dad worked hard all week at his job and most summer weekends we were at my grandparents farm so dad could help them with chores. When we did go on the occasional picnic this basket was packed with sandwiches, cookies and chips and covered with a colorful tablecloth then off we would go for a wonderful afternoon adventure. The basket was a gift basket of fruit given to my mom when I was born; the stripes of red and green are now faded but the basket sits in my art room still full of memories. 4.19.18 Picnic img499

4/15/18 Kites Definitely a painting from memory...playing hooky in college to go fly kites on top of the hill. After all, there are only so many perfect kite flying days in a lifetime. You have to take advantage of them when they come along :-). 4.15.18 Kites img490

4/12/18 Stuffed Animals This little guy was a gift from a favorite aunt when I had a very extended hospital stay more decades ago than I care to think about. He's missing his felt tongue, the ribbon that was tied around his neck is long gone and his fur has been "loved" off in more than one spot. He still has a special place in my heart and a special spot in my home. Some things are just too precious to give away. 4.12.18 Stuffed Animals img492

4.11.18 Breakfast Cereal My sister's favorite breakfast cereal. I don't actually remember the shape of the cereal just the bright colors bobbing around in the milk and of course the Rabbit 'spokesperson". Personally, I was a loyal Tony the Tiger corn flakes fan...definitely not as exciting as the bits of color in the rabbit's cereal. I'm guessing the sugar content was about equivalent though. 4.11.18 Breakfast Cereal mg494
