It’s really great Sandra!Lovely!

Thank you!

This is a beautiful and interesting Sandra. I have a question. Did you do that like sheep? Or did you use the cover fluid? Thank you.
-
Are you asking if I used masking fluid? I did for the trees without foliage. For the rest, I did a wash of Turner’s Citrus Yellow, and then painted the patterns on the trees with a variety of colors. I hope that answers your question.
-
I understand. Thank you. -:)

Would love to walk along that path and inspect these incredible flora!

Thank you!

Beautiful rich colors!! Love!! And adore the style! 😍

Masking fluid is messy, you have to wait for it to dry and you can\'t use a heat tool. Anyhow I am really happy with how this one turned out. 😃 #worldwatercolorgroup 20170926_194350 -

Yeah, I’m rather positive that when people described a breathtaking view, they were thinking about a sunset on a warm beach or standing over the grand canyon. When I thought of this prompt, my mind, of course went

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and your strawberry shortcake certainly looks beautiful to me!
-
Hehe! Yay! Thanks so much, Sandra! 😃💕
-
-
Great post, I love the permission you give to draw/paint what you like! What are the ingredients for your cake?
-
Thanks so much, Cathy! 😃💕 I think giving ourselves permission is step one when it comes to art! As for this dessert… it’s filled with my favorite ingredient… whipped cream!!!
-
-
From where I sit, your view is perfect!
-
Charlie wonderful story and amazing art.
-
Thanks so much, Snehlata! 😃💕
-
-
Yum! Love your interpretation of a breathtaking view. Around here, a day without dessert is like a day without sunshine. Thanks for the wonderful post.
-
Thanks so much, Mary! 😃💕 And well said!! I totally agree with that!!
-
-
Now that is a view I enjoy. I love desserts but don’t often let myself enjoy them, so I’ll just sit and enjoy the view of yours.
-
Thanks, Sandra! 😃💕 Yeah…. I have to limit my dessert intake, but I think that’s what makes having one such a wonderful experience!
-
-
So beautiful and tasty! I agree dessert should always available post dinner. Heck I’ve had dessert for dinner 🙂
-
Yum…this painting makes me hungry for dessert
-
Thanks, Tom!! 😃💕 And yes to dessert for dinner!! That solves the problem perfectly!! LOL
-
-
Definitely a breathtaking view! (And I hope there was some ice cream in the freezer!)
-
Thanks, Ellie!! 😃💕 There was, but we just had the ice cream tonight with the apple cake Philippe just made… yum!! hehe
-
-
Thanks so much, Sharon!! 😃💕 And so thrilled you’re back!! Yay! To bring you up to date, you can now log in on Doodlewash and join the community there! (Yeah, it should not surprise you in the least that I would try something as crazy as starting my own social community! LOL) Welcome back my friend! Are you going to be blogging at the same address?
-
hehe… the BEST way to go!! LOL Glad you liked this one! 😃💕
-
Thanks so much, Sharon! 😃💕
-
hehe!! Thanks, Jill! Glad ya liked it! 😃💕
-
Thanks, Shari!! 😃💕 Glad you enjoyed this post… yeah… a tower of dessert certainly qualifies I think! hehe
-
hehe… yay to that, Kerfe! 😃💕 Yeah, but an empty plate is always a bit sad. hehe
-
Awesome!! Followed!! 😃👍🏻

Delicious! Being diabetic, sweet treats are a rarity but today we have a better understanding of carbs and how to make our favourite food bits with lower carb ingredients … for which I’m endlessly grateful! 😀 Desserts were always part of every meal growing up, because that’s how gramma taught mama. <3 Nowadays we keep it as a treat and enjoyed all the more for it.
-
Thanks, Von! Yeah… moderation is the new norm, but I do think it makes the treats taste that much sweeter! hehe 😃💕
-
-
Never have I been so tempted to lick my screen as I am right now.
(I should probably clean it first, though.) 😀
-
awww.. thanks!! 😃💕 Yes, definitely sanitize the screen first!

Hello friends, I am Saswati Chakraborty, currently living in Detroit, Michigan. I was born in a Bengali family in Kolkata, India and grew up in an environment where education and art are of paramount importance.
-
Thank you Saswati Chakraborty. It is saying that when the student is ready, the teacher is found. Your exact words I needed to read.
-
Thank you. You are very nice. I do not speak English and I use a translator. I hope you understand me.
-
Such wonderful information. Your works are just so beautiful!
-
Your work is amazing! Thank you for the many tips and technique information.
-
Thank you for sharing your experience and knowledge. Your flower renderings are beautiful and your words speak of what we knew all along but have somehow forgotten along the way. I enjoyed hearing them once again & will remember them again.
-
Saswati, what a lovely article!! You express yourself just as beautifully with words as you do with paint. Congratulations on being a guest artist on Doodlewash. Thanks to Charlie O’Shields for giving us this venue to introduce the world to the magic of watercolor. With much affection, ~ Sue

Beautiful work! I love the “Lost in Dark Woods” especially.
-
Very interesting reading and beautiful paintings – thank you for sharing your tips and tricks!
-
WOW, your stuff is amazing! I love all the detail. (I’m kind of one of those “splash it all over and hope for the best” types, so this kind of attention to detail is fascinating to me.)
LOVE the idea of the swatches of mixes, too. So helpful! <3
-
Thank you for sharing your work. Such detail, and so beautiful.
-
incredibly beautiful work. Your woods painting, the first one, is stunning and makes me feel like I’m hiding in a treehouse.

Beautiful art and an inspiring story. Thank you.

You may all hate me for telling you this, but did you know that Jerry’s Artarama has a $1-$2 sampler section? I had an order that fell about $6 shy of the free shipping, so I bought some Mimik brushes and a surprising nice little mixed media sketchbook (though it has a strange smell) from Creative Mark. Nice way to try out products.

I love the concept of this group! This is one of my very early paintings I did in 2015 from a photo I took when I was missing Paris. It was fun to relive the moment in a sketch and while I was painting it, I felt like I was back there again. au_revoir

Really great idea, Charlie. I cannot figure out how to create albums for my photos. Do you have a link to info explaining that?
-
Thanks, Leyla! My hope is to have a getting started page, but I haven’t quite had time to make it yet. 😊 From your Artwork tab on your profile, you can click that and then “Albums” and then “Create Album” should appear to make new ones. You can add a photo to the album there (I’ve disabled the batch upload as it groups everything into one post…[Read more]

This is lovely, as a newb! I love to hear how and why people create their art pieces. I have bits of practice stuff all over my ‘studio’ . I be seen artists on YouTube making paintings from old either practice doodles or technique trials. It gives me hope as well as inspiration. Also saves wasting expensive materials. Please do some more!
-
Thank you Susan! I’ll be posting more of my pieces and links to my blog posts and videos as well, where I share about my painting process. I invite you to visit at LeylaTorres.com

Leyla, your painting makes lovely pattern on cloth, plates etc! Great work on repurposing it!
