Yesterday (Sunday) we were out in the garden and we had a visitor, a wee chook, she had the most amazing patterns on her feathers, quite like a chevron. She wandered around the garden for an hour or so and then went home (I hope). fullsizeoutput_413

Day 26 Comfortable Shoes, so difficult to choose, being a shoe junkie, so I thought what better than my trusty jandals. For those not in New Zealand, we call them jandals (a derivative of Japanese sandals) this goes way, way back. Other places call them thongs (something completely different in NZ), flip flops, there a lot of other names. fullsizeoutput_40a

After seeing Alphonso Dunn draw on tiny pieces of watercolour paper, I thought I would do the same, and they were just the right size for a birthday card. This is the outside. fullsizeoutput_402

This is Day 97 of the #100dayproject, so very close to the finish line now. I had watched a tutorial by Steve Mitchell (Mind of Watercolor) about water, he also painted the rocks, so I think that was my inspiration, it started out as just circles and morphed into mossy rocks. Staedtler Pigment Liners and Winsor & Newton Brushmarkers and Promarkers, cheap notebook. fullsizeoutput_3c8

Fun, fun, fun. I used the atomiser bottle of water and then dropped the colour into the water and let it go, where ever. Then with a few bits of paper towel I blotted up all the excess pigment. For the green I dropped the pigment onto the paper (dry) and flicked it back up towards the blue. Once it was totally dry, I used two different sized pigment liners to create the petals and then added several shades of purple and finally a wee bit of yellow for the centres. Happy ! fullsizeoutput_3ad
