My niece, painted for a showing at the portrait class I attend. Has a few issues but not too bad. It was suppose to be in a comic book style but didn’t really turn out.

Thanks. I have a tendency to rush and not wait for things to dry so some of the colours blended. Some the ink ran as well, I used noodlers so not sure if it was down too thick or i didn’t give it long enough.

I didn’t steal your idea Charlie, I had sketched it out yesterday and didn’t get a chance to paint it as I wasn’t well ;-). Just goes to show how much we think alike.
I combined a photo of reflective sunglasses (blue sky scene) with a sunset and tried to colour the face accordingly (hair is a bit too blue).

I used to be a few months ago too. It’s a combination of practice but more importantly, being able to rip apart your own work and figure out where you went wrong so (hopefully) you don’t make those mistakes next time. Easier said than done but I have noticed that the more accurately I critique my work the faster I improve.
That’s so true!! I totally agree with that. As for people, I just don’t find them the subjects I’m drawn to, so I never practice enough. 😊 It’s probably a bad thing when you can actually count the number of people you’ve drawn. hehe
