4/27/18 Television What seems like a century ago we had this little portable tv that wasn’t much wider than a VHS tape (or whatever those things were called) and actually played those tapes. It’s long gone and my memory of it was just that it was small, square and somewhat squatty. 4.26.18Television img522

Thanks for sharing your beautiful painting and best wishes for Parkinson’s.

Parkinson’s disease has led me to paint. Before illness I could not paint. Everything bad is good for something. Thank you.
-
I understand. I’m very close to Parkinson’s, with essential tremors. It’s really tough to paint with such strong tremors. We have both picked a wonderful medium. 🙂

interesting and beautiful!!!!

Thank you very much Quinn. Painting is my therapy. I recommend to every sick person.

Wow!!! Love this one!! I’m with you! We never ate at fast food restaurants, but did eat on special occasions in the mess hall. I’m an Air Force Brat. I still make home made fries from time to time. Have to eat them hot!
-
Thank you! I agree, they have to be hot and right out of the oil!
-
-
Love your painting depicting the entire process. Yummy!
-
Thanks, Shar!

-
You bet – the homemade ones with that extra added ingredient – love – are the absolute best! I LOVE your painting!
-
Thanks, Sandra! A fond memory…it was a good day when the french fry cutter came out of the drawer :-).

Aww cool! Nicely done! Homemade is definitely best…. and now I’m hungry. 😊

Thanks, Charlie! Homemade is the best. 🙂

Nice sketch. I really want to try urban sketching. Any tips you want to share?

Thank you 😊. Well, maybe you like to practice it a bit at home like I did, and use pictures you took. Just try to be quick and don’t think too much. When you’re outside and feel not confident standing, look for a place to sit down.
Embrace the wonkyness. Also know your tools and where they’re stored, you don’t want rummaging around in your bag mos…[Read more]-
Thanks so much for your help. I think embracing the wonkiness will be the most difficult part. 🙂

You’re welcome 😊. Sometimes when there’s not enough time, I just jot down a quick pencil sketch and take a picture. Then I finish the sketch at home. Of course it’s much nicer to come home with something finished, but something is still better than nothing and a sketch on location is always more lively even if finished at home than compl…[Read more]

Thank you! I have quite a few photos, especially of my son when he was young, that I would like to try painting.

Beautiful painting and I suspect it’s a great photo, too!

Thank you Sandra; actually the only good thing about the photo is the awesome antelope. ; )

Such a different pose…!

I would love someday to paint the goats that climb trees and the goats that walk along the dams, almost vertically. They are all amazing creatures. Did you know there are some dogs that can climb trees?

Oh…All these sounds very interesting..Shall wait for those lovely painting….

I remember that TV, lol!
It was a good tv set but it did take up a lot of space for such a small screen.
Thanks, Rod. My first tv memory was at an aunt and uncles….the screen seemed about 5 inches but was in this massive piece of “furniture”.
I’m older than you all, I used to watch Howdy Doody! Nice painting!
Thank you! I remember Howdy Doody and let’s not forget the Mouseketeers….and then later on there was Dick Clark and American Bandstand? Oh, and how could I forget Captain Kangaroo and Mr. Green Jeans!!??
haha! we actually had one that played Beta tapes. I think those were before VHS? nice memory 🙂
Thanks, Alice!
Love your blue tv, I remember them..
Thanks, Pamela!
