This is one of my favorite little paintings. At the time I painted it I didn’t know you were supposed to sign it on the back. 🙄 IMG_20181228_065304624

I used this little painting for a decoration on a small sketch book I made a few months ago. IMG_20181107_170725492

why is it supposed to be signed on the back? and where did you find the tiny mat/frame? so pretty!
I recently heard or read somewhere that with these little 3×3 mini trading cards you are suppose to sign on the back. There was no reason given, maybe just so it doesn’t distract from the little painting. That would be my guess.🌼
The little mat and frame came together and was sold at Michael’s. They have a great selection of beautiful little frames.🌻
Thank you Carol, appreciate your info and will look for mats/frames there. My thoughts are that the signature, once framed it would be hidden. I would want to be able to identify the artist of the work without removing it from the frame – I suppose this has been a topic for artists down through the ages.
