Here are 31 paintings I did for #WorldWatercolorMonth (and the cover for the journal I made just for #WWM)
I had to laugh when I looked back through them, over half are abstracts that happened as I pondered the prompt for that day. View
Angela Fehr posted a video on choosing and mixing yellows, yesterday, as well as a fun demo using yellow. I didn’t have the exact colors she had, but I don’t think that was really the point. Lol at least it wasn’t for me. Angela encourages you to experiment and play with your colors and really get to know them.
So I did. Lol, I did start with yellow but soon a bunch of other colors jumped in as well. And my new current favorite made an appearance, even though you can’t see it very well in the photo. Iridescent Goldstone by Daniel Smith. Ooooh I love how it sparkles.
I chose to experiment with colour through my recent challenge of painting my animals with a colourful palette and it was so much fun. I’m thrilled with May challenge based on colour. It brightens up ones day! Great idea for this months prompts. 👏
I have a hard time with yellows too, I always tend to turn them to mud even if I pick the right one. But Angela said in her video to always use clean water when painting yellow, so I am going to see if that helps some.
