For our prompt of “Cold” today, the weather outside seemed to know as well since it suddenly got much colder where I live than it was yesterday. So, I’ve spent much of the day hiding indoors, snuggled under a
Oh wow! Yeah, it’s way too early for snow, but we could have gotten some here as it’s been so cold! It’s going to be unseasonably warm on Thursday though… hehe… so who knows. Hope your dinner was delicious as it smelled! 😃💕
You should totally market the treat ball idea for humans. Claim it’s a highly researched diet idea with the added benefit of improving cognitive ability and it will sell like hotcakes. You could market new designs every six months or so. I’d probably even buy one.
Hi Charlie, Yes it is not so nice here either, at plus 5 Celsius in Canada’s hot spot. We had mixed precip this morning — wet stringy snow yuck yuck yuck. I had my heat on for a few days and this day I just left it up although it isn’t running as it is warm in here. I had my red blankie on too for a bit. Soup sounds beautiful — I have it year round. Ask Phillippe if he ever tries roasted sweet potato in his turkey or chicken soup. It is beautiful.
Ahhh, he is great! His little red coat is darling. I was looking forward to a cozy day yesterday. We were suppose to get some rain, but it failed to show up. Instead it was 67 and sunny. My brain can’t wrap around this weather we are having in the middle of October. They say the cold is coming in later this week. Yeah, we will see. 😉
Thanks Mary! I did a larger sketch of this a couple of years ago and was tempted to post it but my phone wouldn’t cooperate. Photo storage has become an issue with Google and Microsoft at war in my phone.
For our prompt of “Spaceship” today, I thought about flying saucers, the classic visual applied to UFOs. The idea of this advanced and alien spacecraft rocketed to fame during the middle of the last century. A
Lack of training, lack of resources and built-in obsolescence and, yeah. It’s hard to get decent appliances that last for any length of time. But at least we do have appliances and aren’t scrubbing the laundry on river rocks while keeping an eye out for crocodiles. It’s all a matter of perspective, lol!
Our microwave, dishwasher, and lawnmower all died fairly recently! And these days its hard to get appliances in a timely manner. Damn Covid! Plus I hate the dishwasher we bought online, and the microwave is annoying too. Joe likes the mower though.
I personally believe in other lifeforms. A certain politician is proof of that! 😂😂 But really, the universe is full of suns. Earth can’t be the only planet that can support life. You’ll be looking at some of those suns tonight in our ever expanding universe.
Ugh on the appliances…. hoping they’ll just be able to fix ours so it can limp along for another year. And I agree! I definitely think there’s other life out there. If they’ve found us, they might have decided to skip this crazy planet! lol 😉
Hope you and Phillipe had a glorious time celebrating and searching the starry skies! We had friends out for a few days last Summer and we did indeed see a UFO, AND it was the same weekend Area 51 had that huge group of people camp out and have a mini festival outside the perimeter! We live between military installments and we couldn’t help but laugh and guess that someone was having a go at that crowd! It flew up our coast and hung a right over us and zipped out to the desert! Considering the four of us don’t drink we still have no better explanation! 🛸😆😄😆
Thanks so much, Marisela! 😃💕 I remember that from the Simpsons! Funny! And oh wow… that’s horrible the guy botched the sewer line connection, that could have been really bad. It was a wonderful evening here under the stars!
Beautiful, Karen! In 1995 we were in Florida for a month renting a house about 20 miles from Cape Canaveral and were fortunate to be able to see a shuttle that launched one night while we were there. It was amazing to see even from that distance. Gives me chills thinking about it. What made it even more wonderful was the pilot, Eileen Collins,…[Read more]
Thanks Mary! Fantastic Mary to have had that opportunity. The closest I have is that Christy McCullough, teacher in space, lived in New Hampshire. Her husband spoke at my graduation ceremony. I went back to college later to finish. The McAuliffe-Shepard Discovery Center in Concord, New Hampshire.
For our prompt of “Pirate” today, I thought back to when I was a kid and dressed up as a pirate for Halloween. So, we ended up with a little beagle dressed up as Captain Hook. I think I was just a generic pirate
That’s one advantage to a smaller dog – you see it when they’re trying to get stuff off the counter. With my mastiffs, their noses were so close to the counter. An ‘accidental’ nudge and “Oh, look! The food is on the floor. Mom and Dad MUST have meant it for me!” And boy you had to move fast to convince them it wasn’t so. A whole pizza could disappear down the black hole of their throats at warp speed.
Maybe our favorite memory of our first Yorkie pup was him standing in the middle of our pizza box, discarded pizza crust in his mouth like a cross bow, and snarling at us as we tried to separate them! 😄😁😆🤣We had the hardest time not laughing as we tried to be stern disciplinarian of our pizza pirating pooch! He didn’t find us as amusing as I pitched him off the coffee table, sans crust!! I was thinking about you playing the villain or dastardly pirate-sorry, you would have a tough time convincing us. But I have seen more villains in film and media lately that really are a surprise, maybe you could score one of those roles! It would be fun to “play” naughty but then just go home and be able to sleep 😆😇😴
We had Friday fish tonight. Delivery is a wonderful thing. I’m working on a negative painting I’m deep into and didn’t feel like cooking. Tomorrow I’m going to get Joe to light the grill for the last time this season and cook pork chops on it. My yard girl is coming tomorrow so I’m going to get her to plant the garlic I just got in the mail. Except for the leaves, there’s really not much left to do. Maybe set up the bird feeders. Its that time of year again.
Yep there was always the grownup to remind us we were little. When I was four I knew everything (ahem) and could not for the life of me figure out why they would not treat me like an adult. Ack. Enjoy your pizza — I passed by Pizza Hut yesterday and yearned for some but I’ll wait til the viral seige is over. Happy weekend.
Bonjour, Cathy! I’m working on practicing illustrations now for a storybook. Sorry, you don’t care for the animals, I wanted to sketch more narrative pieces, rather than just objects as I’ve sketched all that I could imagine! hehe 😉
Thanks so much, Mugdha! 😃💕 Yeah, I always comment to kids based on what I think they were going for with their costume. They all look cute, sure, but if they wanted to be scary, then I’ll jump and act frightened. They are so pleased! hehe
