I have been less than active on this site lately for many reasons, both personally and \"artistically.\" Hah! did I just write that? - artistically? Well: one reason is the wonderful workshop I took with Paul Jackson in October. This may not be the correct forum to post this photo, but you have all been so supportive, and when I look at the number of paintings I have done and learned from by doing the daily prompts, this is the first place I think of. Paul is represented by one of the figures 8n the middle of the bridge, taking a photo of Prague with his drone. I highly recommend taking a workshop with him. Natural Wonders. No, I have never been to the Redwood Forest but it must be spectacular. 5x7 inch. Slowly accepting the fact that I love to fuss with and tweak my paintings. But how do I reconcile that with the golden rule of \"thou shalt not overwork watercolor paintings\"? 20180818_152957

My attempt at being \"loose.\" I watched a wonderful video by Steve Mitchell AKA The Mind of Watercolor. He called it \"wash and ink.\" Wet the paper, throw on some colors and after it dries, use ink to outline shapes and structures and then perhaps use more color to accentuate the shapes. I had my sepia Pigma Micron in hand and froze. There was no way I was going to use it. Just used more color. So at the start, I had no idea what this was going to be. Sad that I have not been able to participate with world watercolor month. In fact, this is my first painting this month, my rendition from class this week. Liking the way the background and vase color/effects turned out, though not sure I will remember how to use the new technique again. ; ) 20180719_174353

Sheena at work. Had to walk away from all the touch ups I kept on making; will I ever learn to paint a looser style of portraits? Don\'t know; perhaps too soon to tell. 20180609_194734

Sunshine. A little \"dark\" in atmosphere but this is the image that came to mind. 20180602_154221
