I have a question…do you draw your items before painting and if so what kind of pencil do you use. I try to sketch lightly but it seems I still have a hard time getting rid of pencil marks. Sometimes I do use a watercolor pencil and that helps unless I am painting something light. Sooooooooooo I was just wondering what your practice be..thanks
If I’m doing something realistic I draw it in pencil first. I don’t worry about the marks showing. If you look closely at a lot of my paintings, you will see the pencil. It’s kind of accepted with watercolor, and many artists just make it part of the design.
