    Thank all.
After I deal with a sink full of reality, I’ll get a photo up 🙂

  • Liz, this is my bears in woods, during creation in my hotel room.
Somewhere in a sketchbook is the finished piece …. but my time is ending – off to reality, and more cafe! bearsinbushesinhotel

LOL, I n early July I doodled bears in bushes/woods (I’ll have to find it) … sitting in a hotel room. It’s not my only piece done in weird random places that I liked the final product. Hmm, is environment THAT influential?

Thank you Liz. I think my practice is starting to pay off a little; but in the final piece, I am likely to do linework individually over each tone … those tiny horizontal strokes, if that makes sense.

Great fog, the subtle bark detail is great.
I have a w.i.p. of trees and can appreciate how well you did this! Kudos!

    • Thank you, Sue 😀 I painted this in a hotel room while on holiday and pretty much had very little of an idea of what I was doing, so I was pleasantly surprised when it kinda worked okay. I still need a lot more practise with this medium – it is still scary 😀

A pig in lipstick! lol I love it, but trying not to laugh too loud at the moment.
The highland cow is great … but I favor red pandas and that is amazing detail.

Thank you, I wish time allowed this one to happen now, but life.
What you see here is actually 5 or 6 thin layers and much time frustrated as I realized how backwards I was doing it. I boarded them together (on my dining table, lol) to do them simultainiously in an effort to optimize the differences …. what I don’t show here is my ‘instruction…[Read more]

A doodled tree, ummm is ink accepted as watercolor here when used in different densities??? sorry if not …
The intent is to create a finished piece in this style, in watercolor (once my DaVinci sample arrives, waiting, waiting …)
Basicly I’m happy with most of it. In the final piece I will likely do substantial linework to detail the bark,…[Read more]

  • Technically, this is ink, but a 2 part w.i.p. .
The goal is to produce 2 opposite views
*(L) looking OUT of dark woods
    *(R) looking INTO dark woods
This is a w.i.p. I’ll return to after the holiday seasons have pasted and possibly after the start of March – 😉 crazy artist plans for February 😀 . IMG_2662

    Thank you Sandra & Sharon.
I only yesterday learned of this group – oddly while searching out firefly squid ref photos.
While I have always done art – from bedroom walls to murals (one discouraged, one encouraged), photography, glass engraving, clay, oh blah blah blah …. 30 odd mediums in my studio now…

It was not until after home hunting in…[Read more]

Thank you Sharon, it’s a style I am only now re-learning – it’s a full circle thing since grandkids like to draw with me, and I haven’t done it since I was closer to their age 😀 lol

Thank you Sandra, this is on grey toned paper … so I may finish the study, then do one on larger wc paper.
