Using my new Golden Qor watercolours. Bought a set of 12, 5mls. Explosive is a good term, when using wet in wet. Especially the Quinacridone magenta. Loving them but getting used to the way they flow is something else.

    • OOo I am drooling thinking of all that fabulous color.. ::is that allowed:: I must try those!!

    • They sound awesome, I like explosive, lol

    • Not all the Qor colors are as explosive. I just bought some greens that barely react in water at all. Quinacridone Magenta tends to be a very explosive color. That said, most of the Qor colors I’ve got are intense. I love Transparent Pyrrole Orange, Quinacridone Gold and Green Gold. But they’re about the only colors that I think might be…[Read more]

  • These look interesting, I had a look on a website at them. Not sure if they’re for me but then up until now I haven’t done much in the way of sketching away from home. I’m wondering if dotting wc paint on wc paper letting it dry would be any good in the field. I’m going to try it. After all Daniel Smith sell dot cards to try their colours out, or…[Read more]

Old Ted, was wc doodled to last months prompt of woven. Old Ted is older than I. My first teddy, panda to be exact. He has been operated on several times, but the surgeon didn’t make a good job on his neck. Thus I’m afraid his head is very wobbly. I used to hide things inside him. Usually pennies or small items. Then I’d stitch him up no one…[Read more]

Trying all sorts to find me style in watercolour. Originally and many years ago I used watercolour much in the same way as posterpaint or gouache. Very tight paintings trying to pin down every detail to within an inch of its life. I had some successful paintings, but had no understanding of what pigment, water and paper could do. Despite wc…[Read more]

Oh yes dandelions today . I’m going to do this prompt. We had to mow the lawns yesterday after 2 weeks of neglect due to rain, rain, rain. The very reason our summer is green! Two fine days and back to rain this morning. Mists across the valley ( fog by any other view, but hubby insists it’s mist going up, huh it’s coming down and sideways!) let’s…[Read more]
