Devil’s club or devil’s walking stick (Oplopanax horridus, Araliaceae; syn. Echinopanax horridus, Fatsia horrida) is a large understory shrub native to the arboreal rainforests of the Pacific Northwest, but also disjunct on islands in Lake Superior. #WorldWatercolorGroup #AquarelleCanadaWatercolour 20220121_Devil's Club

Beautiful painting, Victoria!
Thank you Mary.
This is great 🙂
Thank you Brenda.
Nice strong colors.
Thank you Pat.
This is lovely, but what a name for the plant. Are the berries poisonous?
Thank you Liz. I don’t know about the berries specifically but I know that Indigenous People here in British Columbia use parts of the plant and the root for medicines. I have had Devil’s Root tea.
Wonderful!
Thank you Varsha.
Well painted!
Thank you Fatima.

Thank you Sandra.
