2022-12-07__ Leontopodium nivale, commonly called edelweiss is a mountain flower belonging to the daisy or sunflower family. The flower’s common name Edelweiß is German, and is a compound of edel “noble” and weiß “white”. The edelweiss has been used in traditional folk medicine in the Alps for centuries. It was also known as the bellyache flower for a long time.
