Turpentine Broom Flower
(Watercolour & watercolour crayons on paper, 11 x 14 inches)
2022-12-06__ – December 6th, 2022: Today in Art as Spiritual Practice, we used Isaiah 35:1-2 for inspiration. This painting is based on the phrase from Isaiah 35:1, “The desert shall rejoice and blossom”. The Turpentine Broom (Thamnosma Montana) or Mojave Desert-rue, is a shrub in the citrus family. It is native to the deserts of the southwestern United States and northern Mexico. Leaves are small and occur only after rains, then fall off, giving it a broom-like appearance. It blooms in spring with vibrant purple flowers. Fruit ripens in summer and contains 4 to 6 seeds. The fruits are eaten by animals which then disperse the seeds. ). #outsiderartists #selftaughtartist #outsiderart #doodlewashDecember2022 #ecoartist #ecoart
