Written by As I mentioned in a previous post, my partner is from Paris and we normally travel there once a year. But life got in the way this year so we haven’t been back yet. It’s been more than a year since we’ve visited La Ville Lumière (City of Light). I added the French bit in for effect, but it should be noted that my French is still pretty horrible. So for this doodlewash I thought it was fitting to try painting a little bit of Paris.
I’m pretty pleased with the result as I’m getting better and better at practicing restraint. The trees were a bit of an accident because my brush flared on me rather than coming to a point. I liked the effect so I just kept going with it. Never sure what time of day I’ve created or whether I’ve defied nature once again, but I liked the limited tones.
Hopefully we’ll make it back to Paris soon. I’d love to try sketching live there. Probably good to get a lot more practice in before I do though. In the meantime, I’ll have to settle for making these doodlewash memories.
