Day 27 My Favorite Place to Watch The Sunset Wine Glass and reflections evening

My Favorite Place To Watch The Sunset

My favorite place for sunset viewing is on a rooftop. More specifically, we have a rooftop deck on our row home that makes the perfect setting for such things, assuming the weather cooperates. There really wasn’t a great way to illustrate today’s prompt without doing a background of some kind, which is uncharacteristic for me. I love detail, and backgrounds tend to be more abstract. But, I attempted to create one today to illustrate this idea. This was a loose, fast and furious one as I didn’t have a lot of time today, but it was fun to splash paint around to see what happens. Also, I figured I’d toss in a glass of wine since it was the runner-up for yesterday’s prompt and is usually present while I’m watching my rooftop sunset.

For those of you who actually visit this website in a browser, you may have noticed that it’s gotten a bit of a redesign. This was also part of my lack of time today. For months, I’ve been wanting a search link fixed in the header, since this site has become rather full of content, and it’s become difficult to remember what’s here, even for me. Still more tweaks to be made, but now you can easily search for anything your heart desires on Doodlewash!  So, that much was done, but I’ve no time to write more this evening. I hope all of you are enjoying a wonderful time, looking out into the distance as the sun sets from wherever you love to do that most!

  1. That’s perfectly romantic. Breathtaking stuff, right down to the abstract skyline 😉 How I’d love a rooftop deck now. I suppose I’d get lynched if I didn’t list anywhere on the Broads as being my sunset spot.

Someone’s had the decorators in! Love what you’ve done with the place!

    1. Thanks so much, Jill!! 😃💕 Glad you liked this one! And yeah…I’ve been waiting for a template to appear with the features I wanted and one finally did! Wasn’t sure how much would break in the transition, but it wasn’t too bad. I never know who many WordPress friends actually see each other’s actual blogs anyway! 😉

      1. Well, charlie, you know I visit regularly via my smartphone. New theme works well, including the menu and search. I have to say I was tickled when I came across your Manifesto — All I could think of was Karl Marx and thought, nah, that’s not what Charlie’s about! Lol. 🌏
PS: Your doodle is so romantic!

  2. Oh yes, I can picture this, wine in hand, stunning view, night approaching 😀 I love that you have a search option, on a couple of occasions I tried finding one of your past posts…I googled it! But a search tab makes it super easy, yay 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

  3. Love this a sunset on a rooftop!
The painting looks different from your other ones. So I noticed how important a background can be; especially in atmosfphere and in this case the sunset feeling was much stronger with.
Though the main character here stays the glass of red wine, accompanied with a warm feeling.
    Succeeded Charlie!

One thing I was wondering how would it be with two glasses!

    1. Thanks so much, Annie! 😃💕Glad you liked this one… it’s been forever since I painted a sky… I need a bit more practice! hehe… And glad you liked the new site! It’s gone smoother than I expected in the transition, but still lots of little tweaks to make!
