My partner got me this awesome little travel set from Cheap Joe’s and let me use his tube paints to fill my new little palette. Hoping this inspires me to take my show on the road and try sketching live.

Admittedly, it’s been either rainy or grossly humid and hot and so I may be more of a Fall/Spring urban sketcher. But it’s definitely something I’ll be taking with me when we go back to Paris. Sketching in public is another fear that I need to get over.

Thinking a lot more practice indoors will help me build my confidence. The whole idea of people walking by and looking at what I’m doing as I go still freaks me out a bit.

  1. Beautiful little set. I feel the same way about sketching outside. I have just started doing it this last week. What I’ve been doing is finding little out-of-the-way places. I also paint outdoors early in the morning before it gets too hot.

  2. Hehe… that early in the morning thing always stops me. I get out of bed early, but I don’t feel I really “wake” up until around 10am. 😉 Thanks for the comment… I’m inspired to try soon!

    1. Thanks so much Cathy! 😃💕 Can’t wait to sketch in Paris! And actually… I’m not entirely sure what my initial colors were… I wish I would have put them in that post. I think they were all Winsor & Newton, and since then I’ve switched to M. Graham and Sennelier as I like the honey-based paints better.
