Hello! It’s Charlie O’Shields, back with another episode of Sketching Stuff! This is truly one of my favorite times of year and I’m excited for the holiday season. While some say it’s the happiest time of the year, it can also be the busiest as well. But no matter what, each year I make a little time to sketch and paint every day while I try to keep my inner child from going completely nuts! It’s no secret that I get extra childlike this time of year. Well, okay, I admit it. I almost turn into a child and act pretty much like I did way too many years ago to count now. I’m thrilled and excited the entire time and each shiny light I see makes my heart smile.

No matter what you celebrate, I hope you enjoy this final month of the year. For me it’s often a time of quiet contemplation. There’s a shiny fresh New Year heading this way and I think back to everything I’ve done this past year. Is it everything I’d hope to accomplish? Not at all really. That’s the beauty of having dreams so big they just taking a little more time to mature. So, join me now for a collection of stories all about warmth and love in moments past and present as we enter a winter wonderland made by sketching holiday moments.

Love listening to your voice! It adds a whole new dimension to your daily rambles. Your story about Nesquick makes me think of Bosco Chocolate Syrup. Was it still around when you were a kid – the ones with a clown head on the lid? I’ve never liked clowns much, but I loved those jars. My mother would sew clown outfits to put on the jar after the syrup was gone.

Aww thanks, Sandra! 😃💕 In truth, it’s tough to know how many folks are still really listening to these, so I really appreciate your comment!! I don’t remember that chocolate syrup, but sounds delicious. And sewing cloth outfits on the jar? That’s just awesome! Love it!

Hi Charlie!!! so fun to have Nesquick “chocolate” in common even our when winter time is right on the opposite side of the year circle… Our Christmas Holidays may be quite different in lifestyle, -being just in the middle of the summer- but they truly share the same emotions!!! Thanks .. 🙂

Aww yay! You just made my day, Edith! 😃💕 I know I reach a global community and many are in the middle of summer. But I hoped the emotions would still ring true. So happy they did for you!
