Written by Today I almost didn’t have time to make a doodlewash, but managed to do a quick one of the very first dog I remember owning as a little kid. This was a Snoopy Sniffer Pull Toy by Fisher Price. He had a cousin called Little Snoopy that was just a wooden block on wheels, but this guy actually walked with his little double-jointed legs when you rolled him.
Snoopy Sniffer was a cool little wooden cut-out dog with paper lithographs on all sides of a white hound dog with brown and black body coloring. He had floppy brown felt ears, white plastic feet, and a red vinyl leash attached to the top of his neck. When you pulled, Snoopy made an “Oww-oww” sound, moved on all four feet, and wagged his little spring tail. He was the best pet ever!
I don’t have much time today to write a proper post and I’m super exhausted, but I wanted to share this little guy with you. I’m determined to keep my daily doodlewashes going, even when I don’t have time to write much about them. Not sure how many of you remember this one, but I have incredibly fond memories of pulling him through the house. I loved these wooden toys as they felt more “alive” than the plastic ones. No idea what happened to Snoopy, but I still miss him and I’m glad he was there for me in those early years.

What a curious but charming little thing! It’s another toy that I would probably have loved but never actually had – it at least makes more sense than pulling a telephone across the room! 😉 I love the rolled eye – did they move? – it’s as if he’s thinking “here we go again” just before being dragged around some more.
This doesn’t look a quick job to me, Charles! And we clearly need to have stern words with whoever is putting the prospect of a daily doodlewash into peril – how dare they threaten our fun! Big cheers to you for pushing on where most would probably wouldn’t. Keep on doodlewashin’! 😀

You almost didn’t have time to doodlewash…and apparently, I really didn’t have time to read blogs! I don’t even remember why. How sad…like the expression on the poor painted pup! LOL! I played with that toy but never owned it. You keep bringing back these fun childhood memories for me, Charlie…I have having serious pangs of nostalgia! <3 😀

I never had one of these Snoopy pull-dogs but one of my friends did, and I was ever so jealous. I didn’t visit to visit the friend, I was there for Snoopy, lol. Thank you for the memory and the lovely art!
