Following along with this month’s prompts, today we have a smoothie. I can assure you this was not drawn from life as I’m still in Paris and although I should be consuming smoothies to offset the wonderfully rich food, I’ve been choosing pastries instead. So this image is more of a totem to what my entire meal will consist of when I return. For lunch, at least. In the evening, we’ll just be having vegetable soup in effort to combat the extra calories consumed here. But it’s so worth it as I’ve had such amazing food! Actually, when I look at this image now, all I can see is a creamy strawberry shake rather than a health-conscious smoothie. But all good things must end and tomorrow, we return to the States, a bit fatter, but incredibly happy to have spent time with family.
I’ve loved experiencing French food again just a month after I was here last. And truly, the real problem isn’t the food, but the fact that each meal is with family or friends and a brand new celebration. Typically these would only happen once a day, but here it often happens two in one day. And as much as I love it here, I’m excited to return home to our little dog, Phineas. We’ve a web cam where we can look in on him where he’s staying while we’re gone and he seems a bit sad and lost. Also, more than a little pissed that we left him, so it will be good to be reunited. Though, unfortunately, the reunion will be a short little week as we’ll be heading to Texas next weekend to visit my family for the holidays.
I don’t have much time for this post, as I’ve yet to pack, being a last-minute kind of guy. So I should probably make sure everything is put back in place before hopping on a plane tomorrow. I’ve been rather happy that I’ve managed to keep my daily posts going in spite of a busy trip. Proof that you can always find a little time to paint, even when things seem super busy! I wish each and every one of you a fabulous weekend ahead, and for all my painting friends, I can’t wait to see what you’ll make next! Grab any little time you can and make something new. It makes the day complete. And if that’s not enough, you can always consider making yourself a strawberry smoothie.

How nice, Charlie – your post, your smoothie, your ressolve (!) about indulging, and your upcoming holiday trip to Texas on the heels of this wonderful visit to Paris. I am sure your Phineas will be overjoyed to see you and P. again! Reunited.
Thanks so much, Cynthia!! 😃💕 Yeah, it’s a crazy busy time, but I’m always determined to find time to paint and post! Phineas was thrilled to see us again…though a little exhausted from his stay I think.
Ahh I hope everything goes ‘ smoothly’ with your trip home, and reunited back with phineas 😀
Thanks so much, Rebecca! Back home safe and sound with Phineas! 😃💕
This looks so yummy, such a delicious painting. Actually, I love fresh strawberries but dislike nearly everything strawberry flavored as the taste always falls short of the real thing. But your painting is perfect. Safe travels home to you and Phillipe.
Thanks, Sharon! 😃💕 We’re back and happy yet exhausted. Hehe
Wonderful painting! this smoothie is my favorite!!
Awww thanks so much, Jui! 😃💕
This looks great! A delight that suggestively tasty and bright can’t possibly be good for you… or can it? 😉 Nice to hear you were able to spin this into a happy trip, and indeed you put us slackers to shame with your uninterrupted routine. And I’m sure it won’t take long for Phineas to forgive you! <3
Thanks, Jacob! 😃Yeah, Phineas was truly happy to see us, only pissed for a bit, and now just extremely tired like we are so it all worked out! Hehe
