Today has been a lovely and relaxing day at my mom’s house. I even had a little time to make this doodlewash of some golden bells and later this evening we’ll be heading to a show at the local dinner theatre. After finishing the other horribly challenging puzzle we were putting together, we went to Walmart in search of one with more of a holiday theme. There were shockingly few options, so we had to opt for a Thomas Kincade painting. This one was a bit unique at least since the scene inexplicably has Mickey and Minnie Mouse ice skating while Pluto looks on from the edge smiling. It’s wonderfully weird so even with limited options, it ended up being the perfect choice.

It’s proven quite challenging to make these posts on my phone, so apologies in advance for any typos or mistakes. I’m all thumbs as they say. Right now I’m resisting the urge to go to the other side of the room which has one of those tins of butter cookies. Thankfully, this is is the only time of year for such a temptation, as I really love them. One cookie quickly turns into two, and as long as you replace the lid after each one, it somehow doesn’t count as gluttony. The same is true with those tins of popcorn, though, I only like the plain popcorn and not the flavored kind so it’s easier to show restraint. But all the little extra pounds accumulated, can be dealt with in January.

Right now, I’m just thrilled to enjoy my favorite time of year. Everything glows, glitters, and sparkles in a way that just exudes cheer. It’s a time filled with family, laughs and love and I look forward to it each and every year. I spend so much of the year focused on work and goals and other admittedly important things. But this wonderful and unique time of year allows me to take a break from all that for just a moment. To focus a bit more on the things that matter most and spend time with loved ones I rarely get to see. And that’s the very time I’m enjoying in this moment and I’m truly happy. In the distance, and even in my heart, the bells are ringing.

  1. You amaze me…those bells are perfection personified.
They fill this room with holiday sounds, as does your
engaging chat. You give a precious gift to all who visit
    here. My thanks.

  2. The bells are so beautiful and realistic Charlie. You always get that shine and sparkle – I’m going to nickname you the King of Bling!
