Day 16 - #WorldWatercolorGroup - Wooden Bowl Full Of Limes - #doodlewash

When Life Gives You Limes

So, many of you may have noticed if you arrived to my blog today that it’s in the middle of a rather large redesign. The is the first step in preparing for my next crazy vision that I’ll be announcing very soon, I hope. Assuming I can actually make it happen. After spending the day working on my site, I barely had a chance to paint anything. With a prompt of “wooden” I was feeling a little lost so I quickly made this little wooden bowl of limes for my entry today. I’ve often heard that when life gives you lemons, you should make lemonade. A weird phrase because lemons are lovely, but also sour so it means to adopt an optimistic attitude in spite of it all. I’m not sure what one is to do when life gives you limes, but I assume it must be similar and the point is to keep charging forward no matter what. This works well for me today, because I managed to accomplish what I wanted, but I’ve still far more to do in the days ahead. Still, I’m super excited for what’s coming next!

After spending a day breaking the site I love and trying to put it back together again, I’m totally exhausted. Half way through the process, I nearly wanted to give up and run away. I got a late start this morning because my hand was hovering above the “Activate” button for a good half hour before I said to myself, “get on with it already!” Things aren’t quite like I want yet, but everything appears to be working so that in itself is a huge win. If you’re reading this post, it means things are buzzing forward as planned and I thank you for your patience if anything isn’t quite right still. Things will look much better in the future! As terrifying as change can be, it’s equally enthralling. I adore new experiences and love the challenge of trying to make new things happen. That said, I should probably sleep more and take a bit of rest, but I’ve never been very good about that.

Even when I do dream while sleeping, entire scenarios play themselves out. I’ve often woken up exhausted from a vivid dream that involved a completely different, though equally tiring, storyline as my real life. But no matter how tired I feel, the pure excitement of it all drives me and makes me want to keep going. It’s mostly just pure curiosity. A wonder of what might happen if this or that occurred. If I wonder about something too much, I simply have to make it happen so I can find out. It’s funny. I’m not sure I even worry too much about whether or not an idea will succeed. I just really want to give it its chance. So many fantastic things have happened in this world because someone took the time to pursue a dream. I took some time for that today. And tonight, as I sit here in the glow of the possible, I’m pretty sure I now know exactly what to do when life gives you limes.

  1. It’s amazing to be right behind you, and watch these wonderful accomplishments and to see a bit into your beautiful creative mind. Thank YOU for putting all this effort into something you love and share it with all of us!! You are a treasure!

  2. Does one make limeade, perhaps? Or throw them in with some lemons and make Citrus Polo-ade. Either way, luscious limes! And the site’s looking nice so far! Nothing seems to be dropping off. 😉

    1. Oh… my… Citrus Polo-ade… you have just invented the most popular drink of the future my friend!! AWESOME!! hehe 😃💕 And yeah, things are smooth on the front in, the back end is a big hairy mess…. still trying to get it all figured out. hehe

  3. Limeade -sweet and delish – and you already made it, Charlie. Your blog looks terrific.

I desperately need to revamp my site but I have no idea how to do this, and I have no courage to try it – on the very good chance that my blog will disappear forever. So good for you for acting even when you were not certain it would work out.
