Written by Well we’re just about halfway through this amazing month of watercolor and I hope everyone is having a fantastic time! When I hit mid-month my mind starts to wander a bit so today’s prompt of “daydreaming” is very fitting. I truly wasn’t sure what to paint today and then we were talking about what to have for dinner tonight and how last night’s dinner was so delicious, that we should repeat it. Grilled homemade tortillas, avocado slices, beans, greens, tomatoes, and spices with an egg on top. Since it was impossible to get out of my head at that point, I just went ahead and put it down on paper. It really was quite yummy, but was, of course, served with a glass wine, not pictured here because I couldn’t fit it on the page. This one was done in a super fast and loose style and it felt good to just scribble and splash paint around. My favorite part about painting is just having fun with it and letting things turn out as they may as I make a little something each and every day. My favorite part of the evening is dinner, so combining these two loves only makes good sense.
Actually, we may mix things up a bit this evening and do fish tacos instead. Basically everything pictured here, minus the egg, plus a slice of fish. I’ve no idea why I feel the need to share my menu with you now, but today has been a lovely and lazy day with not much more to report. Those are my favorite days. The ones that just sort of float by and happen slowly with no plans, and no need to even look at the clock. I’m sure there are a million things I should be doing, but I’m conveniently forgetting them at the moment. Whatever they are, they can wait one day while I indulge myself by doing whatever I like. I hope all of you are enjoying a fabulous weekend and have also managed to make some time, just for you, to do the things that make you smile most.

Sometimes, the best times are those that are the simplest. A perfect evening can come from anything that you truly enjoy, even if it’s just last night’s dinner.

I had to stop and think what the heck I ate last night as it was totally unremarkable. A can of tuna as it turns out. Relatively healthy to make up for earlier poor snack choices. Tonight I’m coming to your house. Wait, too long a walk.
Terrific Doodlewash as you made your dinner look delectable. I can tell Philippe goes for an artful presentation. My art is a fork balanced over the dish, tine down into the tuna.
Though I don’t post my art, I am working on a painting for my youngest granddaughter. So I am painting what I love but not aiming for a freebie, and I missed it anyway. Thanks to Cheap Joe’s and you, we all get to paint what we love!

Though I’m too late to win, I like the comment ‘paint what you love’. One of the reasons I often don’t like ‘painting a day’ challenges is because the prompts aren’t something I love. So far the only one I haven’t likes is ‘games in the grass’, which I’m still working on. but an unusual thing is happening. I’m loving the discipline of ‘following orders’ and trying to be as literal as possible, then finding something to like about the subject, or the way I paint it. Thanks for all the hard work you’re doing with this page, Charlie
Aww that’s awesome! I have to admit that prompts have saved my daily painting habit. Some days… I need those orders! Lol But most of the time, I just let my mind jump around until it lands on something. Often… not too literal… hehe… but the prompt still helped me get there! 😃💕

Yeah, it’s it? I learned awhile back that even if I wrote a prompt, if it’s not fascinating to me in that moment, I move on… or just let my mind flow to wherever it wants! 😉💕
This looks perfect! A fine feed indeed; I’m totally drawn in by that egg, I can imagine it all running out as you tuck in – although do I recall that you hate a runny yolk? Tsk. Or am I getting this dislike mixed up with ice cream? That’s a different story altogether 😉 Either way, yum yum!

Some day I really want to be brave enough for ink – this is stunning! We spent the day cooking yesterday and it was so fun. Glad you had a lazy day!
