One of the most wonderful trips my partner and I have taken was to Amboise, France. It’s such a lovely place and also happens to be where Leonardo da Vinci spent his last days. I’m a huge fanboy of da Vinci so I was super excited to visit. Tried a quick doodlewash to capture the view we saw each day while heading into the center of town.
Da Vinci spent his final days in Amboise, France where stories say he became close friends with Francis I. He died on May 2, 1519 and he was buried in La Chapelle Saint-Hubert. I love that he was always driven by curiosity and it fueled everything he accomplished. Which was just about anything and everything he set his mind to.

It is very informative to see this, and learn where Leonardo spent his final days–your rendering is full of the spirit of the place
Thanks so much Lance! We also visited Le Château du Clos Lucé where Leonardo lived the final years of his life. Unfortunately his quarters were closed for renovation so we’re going to have to try again to see that part on the next trip!
Charlie–this is terrific. I love the geometry. I’m a fan of DaVinci as well. I love how he thought in sketches. Nice job.
Thanks Kirk! Yeah…da Vinci was kind of a crazy genius. I’ve been a fan for a long time. Though I can’t quite sketch like he did. Hehe
Who can? Yet.
