After I was complaining that the autumn colors were suspiciously slow to come here, Philippe decided to doodlewash the first and only appearance of fall foliage in our neighborhood. It was certainly in the most unexpected of places.
This is the curve in our street, and just behind the sewer drain, guard rails, and caution sign, you can see a bright red orange salute to fabulous fall. The effect, is a beautiful image that sends some sort of message, but I’ll leave it to you to determine just what it’s trying to say.
But I do think “Slow” is a perfect reminder for a Sunday, with Monday always lurking around the corner to speed life up again. We wish you all a lovely day and hope you’ll find time to slow down, relax, and make something beautiful.

Yes! Hope you had a wonderful one! So happy you liked this Cathe!
Way to go, Philippe! That is wonderful: i love the dark red at the base and the top. I”lm looking at how you do the intermingled leaves–i so struggle with that. Nice job.
Thanks for the comment Kirk! Yeah…he does that really well…I watch him do it and I’m still confused! Lol😊
Perfect! : ) Sometimes we have to slow down to smell – I mean see – the colors. ; ) heheh
Hehe…these colors were sitting over sewer drain so let’s just go with “see” LOL 😉❤️😃
That’s probably a burning bush, which Philippe captured beautifully! The blue-green background really sets the foliage off. Happy Sunday to you, too!
Glad you liked this Teresa!! ❤️😃 Happy Sunday back at ya friend!! 😃
xo ! 🙂
Pretty!
Happy you think so friend! 😃😃
What a beautiful scene in such an unexpected place! I love the rich reds Philippe used and they contrast so well with the cool blues and grey’s below. Wonderful!
I’m happy to report that I don’t see any 100’s in this week’s forecast and it’s actually cool today! I’m trying to get our Halloween decorations out today and thinking about doodlewashing some of my Halloween knick knacks for Inktober.. Have a restful Sunday!
Awesome! Glad you liked this one Kari! ❤️😃And super excited to see what you’ll ink next for Inktober! Do it! Do it! 👍🏻😃
That looks familiar…miss it… 🙁 … but love it!!! 🙂
Awww miss you too Eric!! ❤️😃 Glad you loved this one!
A rather mundane subject turn into a beautiful scene. Well done Philippe and thank Charlie.
Yeah…it wouldn’t have been my choice of subject, yet Philippe rendered it beautifully!! Thanks Sharon!! ❤️😃
you and Phillipe have a similar style… 🙂 Is it like when a couple is together a long time they start to look alike….? 🙂
Lol…is it Jodi? I always think his style is really different. It seems much softer and sweeter than mine! 😉😊
awh! that’s just loveeeee 🙂
Fall color is indeed “slow” in arriving here too…(K)
Glad we’re not alone Kerfe…but I really really want it to come!! 😉
Me too. Before the snow does…
Someone has sense of humor, and it is delightful. Love the painting. The deep shadows, blending and layering of saturated color are beautiful.
Hehe…yes…he does…I could have never married someone without a strong sense of humor. But then again, they would likely never want to marry me! Lol Thanks Haunani! ❤️😃
OMG! I love this. Beautiful.
So happy you like it, Punit!! 😃
