I was challenged by the lovely Aggie Lim (Guest Doodlewasher) in Australia to try a faster, looser doodlewash on Instagram. She suggested I set a timer and work quickly in 2, 5, 10, and 20 minute sessions to see what happens. This is what happened in 10 minutes. This one is watercolor only with no sketching first, as I was also inspired by Guest Doodlewasher Sari Atika Sundari in Indonesia who recently posted a fabulous watercolor-only sketch (which I hope to feature here in the future!).  It was much more elaborate than this little doodlewash.

These are macarons from Pierre Hermé Paris. Philippe and I sampled them when we were in Paris a few years ago and also brought some back for friends. They’re delicious! We split a giant vanilla bean one while sitting on a bench near the Tuileries Garden. So sweet it makes your face hurt a little, but so worth it!

I liked this little doodlewash exercise. I’d recommend trying it, as it really forces you to go for it and not worry over little details (something I always struggle with). It’s incredibly fun to doodlewash daily and even more fun when your new friends from across the globe challenge and inspire you to try new things. I’m learning so many things and doodlewashers are the friendliest, coolest people on the planet! Thank you all!
