Jane Blundell has tested nearly every color in every brand and posted charts showing all her tests in her blog. Her knowledge of WC is immense. One example: https://janeblundellart.blogspot.com.au/2013/06/watercolour-comparisons-1-ultramarine.html
when I want a new color she’s who I use to research which brand has the best properties. Her site and Roz’s (rozwoundup)are invaluable for paint information.
Yes. Jane is a small watercolor library! Don’t forget Handprint though — he explains watercolors, binders, pigments… I finally began printing parts and reading them, little bits at a time. The man saved me a ton of money because in the beginning I’d buy two colors that were the same called different names (especially if it is Daniel Smith, who has VERY similar colors under different names.) https://www.handprint.com/HP/WCL/water.html
Yes, Kate, I use Handprint, too. I just like all Jane’s painted charts!
